THC vs CBD

CBD or cannabidiol is a compound found found primarily in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. It is the highest constituent found in the hemp plant along with 80 minor cannabinoids. CBD oil comes from industrial hemp plants and is legal in all 50 states.

CBD hemp products were introduced into the marketplace to provide the medical benefits of cannabis without the “mind altering” effects of THC.

The majority of ARC Nutraceuticals products are broad spectrum CBD which is a full spectrum product but without the THC. Broad spectrum CBD contains a range of naturally occurring compounds (phytocannabinoids) from the cannabis plant but no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). ARC’s CBD products eliminate the possibility you will test positive for marijuana in a drug test.

Read section Restore your Balance for information on how cannabinoids affects the body.

THC vs CBD

THC and CBD are extracted from different varieties of cannabis plants. While there are certainly similarities, their effects can be very different.

THC is the natural compound that causes the “high” typically associated with marijuana.

CBD comes from the hemp plant and provides many healthful benefits, but it will not get you high.

At ARC Nutraceuticals, our hemp plants are grown to precise standards and our extraction process ensures that our CBD products contain less than the 0.3% legal limit for THC. This means you will not test positive for marijuana in a drug test from using our CBD products.

Where to start

For beginners ARC believes the best delivery form is our Broad Spectrum CBD Oil in 750mg or 1500mg bottle. The graduated dropper allows you to easily control your starting doses. Even though sublingual dosing may feel unusual for some, we have found this to be the most common and effective way to take CBD.

How Much Do I Take?

See the serving details on our product instructions and our dosing charts on the CBD Oil product pages.

Using the dropper, begin with ½ dropper once or twice a day and use the same dosing schedule for several days. Be consistent. If you see no effect, increase to 1 ml dropper. Continue that method until you reach the therapeutic effect which can take up to 1 week. Once you find your right dose, try taking it once a day before bedtime or when anxiety hits. If you are using it to treat a chronic condition, take it twice a day or more often if needed.

What Product is Right for Me?

Everyone is different and has different needs. Keep in mind the effective dose is highly individualized due to age, size, metabolism, health status, etc. That’s the reason not everyone will react the same or get the same therapeutic effects with the same dose of CBD oil. In essence, the goal is to administer consistent, measurable doses of CBD and observe the effects. For some, CBD topical products may be the best choice.

Multi-product user

Some customers find that by using several forms of CBD they can achieve the best results to meet their unique needs. For example, taking Broad Spectrum CBD sublingual drops or our CBD/CBG gelcap in addition to applying a Broad Spectrum CBD topical salve or the CBD/CBG roll-onto a sore joint or sore muscle is an effective method to address inflammation.

Should I Consult a medical professional?

Yes—who is better to go through this journey of wellness than with your Physician, Nurse Practitioner, PA or Pharmacist? With the new studies of cannabidiol’s health benefits, more healthcare providers are becoming receptive to the idea. While it is safe to use and has no side effects, it can interfere with the metabolism of some medications. If you are taking a prescribed medication, speak with your pharmacist. If you are pregnant, nursing or trying to get pregnant speak with your physician before starting one of ARC ingestible products.
